MY BACKGROUND

Kayleigh has been an occupational therapist for 12 years. She is originally from South Florida and relocated to North Carolina in 2019. Most of her experience is in the inpatient rehabilitation setting specializing in balance, falls, hip fractures and amputations. She also has experience as a Director of Rehabilitation in an outpatient setting working with older adults in assisted living facilities and memory care units. For the past 3 years, she has been an OT Instructor at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord, North Carolina. The courses she teaches include Kinesiology, Mental Health, Development through the Lifespan, Therapeutic Modalities and Adult Intervention.

MY VALUES

My teaching philosophy is to encourage students to build on their own experiences while providing an environment where students feel comfortable expressing their own ideas and actively participating in the education process. To teach practice skills while helping students synthesize, problem solve and make sense of new information.
