Experience

Shortly after obtaining my OT Instructor position I decided to go back to school to obtain my Doctorate degree, something I never thought I would do. This program has challenged me to think outside the box, as well as become more involved in the OT profession. It helped ignite my passion for the profession again and increase my drive to assist my students to become the best OTs they can be. It also encouraged me to investigate advocacy, program development and community involvement.

Capstone Work

The OT program I currently work in is a hybrid/bridge program, meaning our students are primarily online with a weekend on campus every three weeks. They are also already OTAs when they enter the program. This program is designed for individuals to continue working full time. When I was considering different capstone projects, one of my students made a joke "You should do a project on how masters students have no time for fun" and this statement made me think. I decided to complete a project on stress management for the students in my program. I am constantly trying to think of ways to lighten their load while maintaining the rigor of a Master's program.

Attached is my final capstone paper as well as my capstone presentation given to my peers.
